Pixel Mosaic modeled and printed a miniature dollhouse for the purposes of demonstrating 3D mapping ideas to perspective clients. This proof of concept project has turned into an animal of its own, being presented at technology showcases, as well as capabilities presentations.
Aside from being just a visually stimulating presentation, we have developed an application in which a group of users can select and apply different digital skins to the house, giving our clients fresh insight and perspective into the possibilities and potential of interactive 3D mapping. We created numerous CGI scenes for general interaction, as well as isolated UV textures for extended interaction in a collaborative environment. The point of the exercise is to open the world to the idea of functional use of projection mapping, in a world where projection mapping is traditionally revered as just visual eye candy.
